Along with Herefordshire Mencap, Healthwatch Herefordshire identified a need for those with a learning disability to have a bigger say in what matters to them. We also identified a need for the development of a larger pool of people with learning disabilities for services to consult with.

Healthwatch Herefordshire is looking to engage with carers in the county so that their lived experience can influence the Carers Strategy Review.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition that affects people's behaviour and Healthwatch is keen to listen to the experiences of people living with the condition in Herefordshire. We are also keen to listen to the experiences of people supporting people with ADHD.

Healthwatch Herefordshire wants to listen to the views of people with a learning disability. We particularly want to understand their views on annual health checks and Covid vaccinations.

The continuing cost of living crisis is adversely affecting people's physical and mental wellbeing, with vulnerable people and those on lower incomes hit the hardest.

We are delighted to welcome our new Chair, Andy Watts to the Healthwatch team. Andy has extensive experience of the local health and care system having worked as a GP at Sarum House Surgery and Hereford Medical Group and in other clinical roles at Hereford County Hospital.

At previous Herefordshire Community Partnership events, the rising cost of living was highlighted as an area that statutory and VCSE partners should pay particular attention to.

A draft Integrated Care Strategy including a vision, mission, and eight commitments has been developed for Herefordshire.

We are working with Wye Valley Trust to understand why so many patients miss their appointments and are therefore recorded as a DNA (Did Not Attend).

Research for The ‘State of the Sector’ report sought to quantify the size, breadth and diversity of the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Herefordshire.

On September 8th 2021, Healthwatch established and launched the Herefordshire Community Partnership.
