Serious Mental Illness Project

We recently published our SMI project report which detailed the health inequalities experienced by individuals with severe mental illness (SMI) in Herefordshire, including those experiencing conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, and severe depression.

The report drilled down on the impact of SMI on physical health, daily functioning, and overall wellbeing; identifying barriers to accessing healthcare and support services; exploring the social, economic, and systemic factors contributing to these inequalities. Capturing the lived experiences of individuals navigating both mental and physical healthcare systems.
