Life & Health in Herefordshire Gypsy Roma & Traveller Communities

Life & Health in Herefordshire Gypsy, Roma & Traveller Communities, a report produced through the Core20Plus Connectors Programme.

This work represents a year of structured engagement with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) communities across the county, undertaken to identify the systemic, cultural and social barriers that contribute to persistent health inequalities. The report outlines the historical and present-day challenges faced by GRT families, from insecure housing and discrimination to difficulties in accessing preventive healthcare. It also documents the impact of a community connector approach in building trust, strengthening engagement, and co-producing practical, community-led solutions.
The findings and recommendations provide an evidence base to inform future policy, service design and investment, with the aim of embedding sustainable improvements in health equity for GRT communities in Herefordshire.
