Community event showcases Herefordshire Health & Wellbeing services
The Engaging Communities event held on Tuesday 21st July, organised by Primecare and with support from Healthwatch Herefordshire (HWH), brought together charities and agencies in Hereford High Town to create a carnival atmosphere where local people could engage about their health & wellbeing.
Bev Stevenson, Customer Engagement Officer for Primecare, said: ‘Primecare is delighted to offer the ASDA GP walk-in centre in Hereford, and there are so many other fantastic health, care and wellbeing organisations in Herefordshire, we wanted to get them all together to let the public know what is available to them’.
There was woodworking, fancy dress, blood pressure and diabetes checks to name a few of the activities going on during the day. There was also a charity raffle with four charities receiving donations from Cargill, which were presented by Tony Larkin, Director at RNCB, with Mayor Charles Nicholls also in attendance.
Paul Deneen, Independent Chair of Healthwatch Herefordshire, said: ‘HWH, as the consumer champion for health & social care services in the County, is pleased to co-host such a brilliant event which sees so many members of the public taking interest in their own health & wellbeing, and showcases the wide range of quality services available’.
The event created quite a splash on social media with over 20,000 impressions on Twitter. Photos from the event can be found on the site by searching the hashtag #EC2015.
